Well...
I'll start us off here with a lovely quote from my favorite person in the world, Chistofer Drew Ingle. :)
"So go to school in Chicago! Find a new boy, a new life, a whole new set of friends! 'Cause all that I will ever do is break your heart...and it breaks my heart to see you here" - Lousy Truth
I <3 this song. It's off Never Shout Never!'s new CD, Harmony. I'm addicted to this CD. It's amazing :)
My project this year (to be finished by January 1st, 2011) is to make a book of all my favorite quotes. I've already got 3 pages of a composition notebook filled to the brim with quotes. You can help me by leaving your favorite quotes in a comment below! :D Quotes from songs, poems, books, movies and anything else you can think of :)
Thanks and don't forget to leave a comment!

Hunger Games....Popstar version?
What would happen if you took Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Eminem, Adam Lambert, Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias, Usher, Beyonce and Miley Cyrus and put them all in the arena?
You would probably end up with something like a major sing-off. But not in my mind.
Well, let's start with a quick review of all of our peeps here. Please note that not all of the tributes are under 18, so we'll say this is a Quarter Quell.
Justin Bieber, the 16 year old male tribute from D1. He's famous for his song "One Time" and most girls find themselves swooning over him. Other than that, he has no advantages over the other tributes.
Selena Gomez, the 18 year old female tribute from D2. She's most famous for the lead role on Wizards of Waverly Place as Alex, but she was also on Barney as a kid. I think her advantage here is that she's not afraid of purple dinosaurs, vampires or mummies who want to take over the world.
Katy Perry, the 25 year old female tribute from D3. She's famous for tons of things- but her most famous song at the moment is California Gurls. I'm not sure that she has an advantage, but she has kissed a girl.
Rihanna, the 22 year old female tribute from D4. She's famous for a ton, so I'm not even going to go there. "Pon de Replay" is what got her started. She's been through a lot of the same stuff, so she's got an advantage there.
Eminem, the 37 year old tribute from D5. He's a famous rapper. He's not a Career, but I could see him ganging up with Rihanna, especially after their new hit, "Love the Way You Lie".
Adam Lambert, the 28 year old male tribute from D6. He placed 2nd on "American Idol" in 2009 and now he's everywhere. He's kissed a boy- maybe he and Katy Perry should be allies!
Britney Spears, the 28 year old female tribute from D7. She's famous for a lot, but she got her start back in the 90's with "Hit Me Baby, One More Time" when she was 16. She's probably resistant to a lot, considering all the plastic surgery she's had.
Lady GaGa, the 24 year old female tribute from D8. She can whip an outfit up out of anything- including raw meat. Gross, right? Well, at least she'll have something to wear.
Enrique Iglesias, the 35 year old male tribute from D9. He's super yummy (even though he's 35) and he's always on the radio. Maybe he could sing for us here in Panem?
Usher, the 31 year old male tribute from D10. He's released a ton of albums and was a mentor on American Idol in 2009. He's got power, swag, and good looks.
Beyonce, the 29 year old female tribute from D11. She's famous for a lot, too, but her most famous song would probably be "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)".
Miley Cyrus, the 17 year old female tribute from D12. She's probably better known as Hannah Montana, the singing pop sensation created by Miley and Disney Channel.
So. Now that we have a brief intro of our tributes, let the games begin!
Right away, everyone rushes to the Cornucopia. The Careers are made up of Justin, Selena, Rihanna and Eminem. The cannon fires twice- poor Miley is dead already, killed by Beyonce, along with Enrique (also killed by Beyonce.) Apparently the shininess of the Cornucopia was too distracting.
Britney and GaGa team up, ready to blow everyone away with their amazing skills. Like predicted, Adam and Katy are teamed up, along with Beyonce and Usher.
The first night, only Miley dies and everyone goes to sleep. But before the tributes know it, a swarm of crazy fans are rushing towards them, ready to attack.
Eminem manages to save most of the Careers from any danger, but Justin is severly injured and doesn't have time to heal as it begins to rain bombs disguised as cameras.
Justin picks a camera up so that he can snap a new Facebook pic and KABOOM! Justin's gone.
Beyonce, Usher, Adam and Katy escape the attack with only minor injuries that they heal quickly with a med kit Katy had picked up. They stop and eat a bit of food, then continue on their way.
Britney and GaGa were pretty stratched up, but they manage to get away. GaGa is sewing away when suddenly she turns and attacks Britney, stabbing her in the chest with a sharp piece of wood.
Ouch.
The cannon fires and Britney's dead, so GaGa moves on with her things until she runs into the Careers. Eminem is already on her with his fists, throwing punches everywhere. GaGa's face is smashed and Eminem takes care of her, kicking her in the head and then snapping her neck.
The cannon fires again and GaGa is dead, so the Careers move on.
That night, the tributes see Justin, Britney and GaGa in the sky before they go to sleep.
The next morning, Rihanna and Eminem decide to take care of Selena by posioning the can of food they had given her, but Selena took the wrong can and Rihanna ate the posioned one. The cannon fires and Rihanna dies. Eminem isn't happy about that, so he stabs Selena and runs off. Another cannon fire and Selena's dead.
Katy, Adam, Beyonce and Usher hear the fires and know that one of the Careers is super mad, so they run off. Eminem finds Katy's hiding place and takes the knife he used to stab Selena out of his pocket.
Katy, however, kisses Eminem and then kicks him where it counts, knocking him away from her. She runs and finds Adam, where they quickly hug and then look for a hiding space.
Eminem is furious. He grabs his knife and goes running after Katy and Adam. He instead finds Beyonce and Usher sitting in a tree talking, so he takes them out quickly. Two cannon fires and they're gone.
He runs after Katy and Adam's trail, finding them behind a rock. He moves the rock and tries to stab Katy, but Adam jumps in front of her before he can, sacrificing himself for her. Katy starts to sob over Adam's dead body and Eminem snaps her neck in two.
Eminem wins! :D
Who do you think should have won?

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Book review by The Dancing Mockingjay
Book review by The Dancing Mockingjay
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins is the last book in the Games trilogy, which follows 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen and her family when her name is called in the Reaping--which is basically a child's doom.
Let me explain.
The Hunger Games is an evil game in which one child (under 18) of each gender is chosen from each of the 12 Districts in the Reaping to go into the arena. The arena is always different (Katniss explains in the book that one year, the arena was a frozen wasteland and all the tributes froze to death, while another year it was a desert arena where all the tributes died of dehydration.) and there is only one winner.
The Games is about one thing: survival. Kill or be killed by something: whether it's human or not.
The winner of the Games gains extreme respect from their district and all the other districts (there's 12). They've survived!
During the event of a Quarter Quell, there will be a special Hunger Games event. A QQ is every 25 years. (The 2nd QQ, as explained in Catching Fire, was where they sent twice the amount of tributes (that's right, there were 48 kids in the arena) to the arena that year. This was the year that Haymitch Abernathy, Katniss' mentor, won the Games.)
Anyways. I'm about done explaining about the Hunger Games and what not, so I'll get to the review now.
I'll tell you right off hand that I cried. Lots and lots and lots.
I shouldn't tell you that, though, because I can't tell you why without spoiling the book. So, I'll just review the book and we can all continue on with our not-so-normal lives.
Well, the plot was really good. I mean, not kidding, I was really shocked at some of the events that happened. I'll give it to Suzanne Collins: she wins the best author award in my book. I mean, really! Who else could write a book that twists and turns and has no Mary Sue characters?
Oh, yeah. Suzanne Collins does not have a such thing as a Mary Sue. Not a chance, people. The thought doesn't even exist in her brain. The words "Mary Sue" are not in Miss Collins' vocabulary.
:D
Which makes me very happy :D
Her characters, particularly Katniss, really grew throughout the books. I really liked the way Katniss developed from a whiny little girl into a mature young woman, especially with her interactions with the other characters (Gale in particular! :P).
Gale still hasn't grown on me. I think he actually got worse in this book.
*Minor spoilers for this next bit here*
When they were blowing up the Nut in D2, I really think he was just set on bloodthirst and revenge and that really settled my Team Peeta-ness. All Gale really wants is revenge! That's all he's ever wanted.
And when he was talking to Peeta in Tigris' basement thing, he scared me by saying "I should have gone in to protect her."
NO! NO, GALE, NO! Then we would have NO PLOT. At all! Gale doesn't need Katniss in my mind. He needs to be with Madge, but of course Suzanne killed her off.
*Spoilers over*
Okay. So, overall, I really liked the book, the characters, the plot, the ending, the epilogue and--well, let's just say I liked the whole package. :D
To put it in Team Peeta-ness, the whole thing was icing on the cake to the first two books.
So yeah.

Hello :3
Hola amigas and amigos! :3 Morgan here, reporting for duty! *salutes*
so, this is my new blog, *The Dancing Mockingjay*, and I hope you like it. I originally started the blog so that I could talk about Hunger Games stuff (especially who I would cast in the movie...ahh, Peeta :3) and to talk about my life, although you won't find THAT very interesting.
Anyways, the name *The Dancing Mockingjay* came to me when I was thinking of screen names for my shelfari page. I dance, and I'm currently obsessed with Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (I'm sure you've heard of it, if not, get your butt to a bookstore, buy it and read it. Now.) so I decided to go with it. :)
Ummm.....thanks for reading :)
If we burn, you burn with us.
